CAMPO Recommendations for Federal Functional Classification changes

Throughout 2025, CAMPO has been working with NCDOT on a statewide effort to review and update the Federal Functional Classification System.   CAMPO staff have conducted a review of the CAMPO region including the recently expanded areas of Harnett and Chathamm Counties and documented the following proposed changes.  These recommendations were presented to the TCC and Executive Boards at their August meetings for their information and are posted for a 30-day public review and comment period.  The Board will be asked to approve these changes for submittal to NCDOT at their October 15th, 2025 meeting.  Comments can be submitted through the webform, via email to comments@campo-nc.us, via phone to 984-542-3601, or via U.S. Mail to: CAMPO Public Comments, Attn: Bonnie Parker, One Fenton Main Street, Suite 201, Cary, NC 27511.
