This quarter there were two (2) Wake Transit Work Plan amendment requests submitted for consideration.
- Town of Wendell: Request for a technical correction to the project description for project TO003-G: Contribution to Zebulon-Wendell Express (ZWX) Park-and-Ride. The correction is to remove the word "lease" as the town does not currently lease the property. The funds in this project go towards site upkeep and maintenance. There is not financial impact associated with this request.
- Capital Area MPO: Request is for funds to partner with NCDOT Rail Division to complete a Triangle Passenger Rail Initial Feasibility Study. This study will be completed utilizing NCDOT's on-call consultant services and will study feasibility of implementation of the Strategic Regional Rail Infrastructure Investment study, completed in 2025. The results of this study will inform Wake Transit investments in the regional rail system. The study is expected to be completed in six to eight months.

Creating the Work Plan
Per the Wake Transit Governance Interlocal Agreement, the Wake County Transit Planning Advisory Committee (TPAC) makes a recommendation to both the CAMPO Executive Board and the GoTriangle Board of Trustees to adopt an annual Wake Transit Work Plan. The Work Plan includes three core elements.
1) The transit operating and capital improvement budgets scheduled to be implemented in the next fiscal year, which runs from July 1 through June 30;
2) A summary of updates made to the financial assumptions used for forecasting revenues and expenditures to support the implementation of current and future projects; and
3) Detailed scope and financial information for planned transit investments through the current 10-year planning horizon of the Wake Transit Plan.
Amending the Work Plan
During the fiscal year, there may be a need for changes in scope or budget for approved Wake Transit Work Plan projects, or there may be a need for projects to be added or removed from the Work Plan. In these cases, the annual Work Plan may be amended, with three amendment cycles available for amendment request consideration. In the event that an amendment to the Work Plan is needed, project sponsors should complete and submit an amendment request form through the Wake Transit SharePoint site. The Work Plan Amendment Policy outlines important details regarding this process, and the amendment request schedule details important dates and deadlines, both provided below.
