Approval of the FY 2020-2029 TIP - CAMPO

In September 2019, CAMPO released the Draft  FY 2020-2029 Transportation Improvement Program (TIP) for public review and comment. It was approved by the Executive Board at their October 16, 2019 meeting.

III. Approval of Draft 2020-2029 STIP Document - NCDOT

After the release of the Draft  2020-2029 STIP in January 2019, NCDOT gathered public input on the draft document. In August 2019, NCDOT released the final draft of the 2020-2029 STIP, which included both new projects and schedule adjustments from the previous version.  The Board of Transportation approved the final STIP in September 2019.

II.  Assignment of Local Input Points

II.B.  Division Needs Category

Complete: In October 2018, CAMPO assigned 2,500 local input points to the Division Needs category of projects.  Following a public comment period and a public hearing, the MPO Executive Board adopted the Division Needs category Local Input Point Assignment on October 17, 2018.

II.A.  Regional Impact Category

Complete: In July 2018, CAMPO assigned 2,500 local input points to the Regional Impact category of projects.  Following a public comment period and a public hearing, the MPO Executive Board adopted the Regional Impact category Local Input Point Assignment on June 20, 2018.

I. Submittal of Candidate Projects

Complete: Initially, for P5.0, CAMPO was allowed to submit forty-three (43) new projects for each mode of transportation: roadway, transit, aviation, rail, bicycle/pedestrian, and ferry.  The CAMPO Executive Board approved the list of projects for public review and comment on June 21, 2017.  A public hearing was held on August 16, 2017 the board officially approved the list for submittal to NCDOT on Sept. 20, 2017.
